ATA EVENTS

The Santa Maria Gun Club, Inc. Wasformed in 1928 and incorporated as a non-profit corporation in1937. The purpose of the club is the promotion of the shootingsports through member participation. The club owns 42 Acres ofland with 10 Traps, three are lighted for evening shootingincluding a wobble trap. A 13 stand Sporting Clays Machine and a10 position 25 yard indoor pistol range. Space is available forArchery.


TheSanta Maria Gun Club located on the beautiful Central Coast areaof California is an active and integral part of the community.The club is ATA and CGSTA affiliated with six registered trapshoots a year. We provide support for three 4H groups,Marksmanship training for BSA merit badges in rifle and shotgunand specialty classes for women's self defense handgun training.There are numerous club shoots and leagues, both doubles, singlesand sporting clays. Bowling pin shoots are held on a quarterlybasis. Hunter safety classes are held six times per year.

Clubhouse Remodeling

At theFebruary 2nd, 1999 Board of Directors meeting the officersdecided that a general remodel of the clubhouse was past due.This will mean that all animal heads must be removed from thewalls of the clubhouse. Members who own trophy heads that aremounted in the clubhouse are asked to remove them as soon aspossible. Heads not removed by owners will be disposed of. Thechanges to the clubhouse will commence as soon as feasible. Workwill probably start after the next ATA in February. We hope thatthe changes made will enable us to have better usage of ourfacilities now and in the future.


BowlingPin Practice Shooting.

FirstWednesday of each month beginning in January1999 from 6PM until 9PM. This will be a great time totry the pin shooting format. Range Officers will be on hand toguide you and maintain safety procedures. Come on over andsharpen up your skills and be prepared for the next bowling pinshoot match.


EVENTS AND CLASSES

Special events for pistols include bowling pin shoots on a quarterly basis.
The club holds 6 ATA registered shoots annually as well as evening leagues and club shoots throughout the year.
Cordoba hotel roomsHunter safety classes are held 6 times a year.
